Shefali Jariwala, a popular Indian actress and model, passed away suddenly on June 27, 2025, at the age of 42. She was at her home in Andheri West, Mumbai, when she collapsed. Her husband, Parag Tyagi, and others quickly took her to a nearby hospital. Sadly, doctors declared her dead when she arrived.

This shocking news left her fans, friends, and people in the entertainment industry heartbroken. Shefali was known for her famous music video “Kaanta Laga” and for appearing in many television shows and reality programs. Her sudden death has brought sadness to many across the country.

The police were informed soon after she was taken to the hospital. Her body was sent to Cooper Hospital in Vile Parle for a postmortem examination. The doctors did not immediately give a clear reason for her death, and their report was kept pending until further analysis. They said they needed more tests to be sure. The police said there were no signs of injuries or any suspicious marks on her body. Based on the early information, they believe that Shefali’s death may have been caused by natural causes, possibly due to a sudden health issue like a heart attack. She was reportedly taking medicine for a neurological condition in recent times.

Even though there were no early signs of foul play, the police still asked questions and recorded statements from her husband, Parag Tyagi, and others who were close to her. This is a part of the regular process in such cases. An Accidental Death Report (ADR) was filed, and the investigation is still going on. Parag Tyagi, Shefali’s husband, is also an actor and is known for his roles in various television serials. He looked extremely emotional and heartbroken when he visited the hospital and later during the funeral. He asked the media to give them some privacy and not to make drama out of the situation. He folded his hands and asked people to pray for his “Pari,” which was his loving nickname for Shefali.

The final rites were done on June 28 at the Oshiwara Hindu crematorium. Parag, along with Shefali’s (Kaanta Laga) father and sister, performed the rituals. Many people from the television and music industry came to pay their last respects. This included actors, singers, and friends who had worked with Shefali over the years. Friends like Arti Singh, Mahira Sharma, and Rashami Desai were seen at the crematorium. Singer Mika Singh and Sunidhi Chauhan also expressed their sadness over her death. Many others shared their memories of her on social media.

Shefali Jariwala (Kaanta Laga) became very famous in 2002 with the song “Kaanta Laga.” Later, she appeared in reality shows like “Nach Baliye” and “Bigg Boss.” She was appreciated for her energy, beauty, and honesty on screen. Even though she was away from the limelight in recent years, people still remembered her fondly. She was earlier married to Harmeet Singh, a music director. Their marriage ended years ago, and she later found love again with Parag. The couple often shared pictures together on social media and looked happy.

Now, fans are waiting for the final medical reports to know exactly what happened. The police will complete their investigation only after all the test results are in.
