Rhythm of a Flower (Documentary)

Animation has the power to evoke emotions and inspire in ways that live-action sometimes cannot. Amit Dutta’s Rhythm of a Flower (Phool Ka Chand) beautifully captures this essence, bringing to life the journey of Pandit Kumar Gandharva, the legendary Indian classical singer. The film traces his early years in a rural village, his time as a teacher, and the tragic period when he was bedridden with tuberculosis at the peak of his career. Yet, beyond Gandharva, two other key characters shape the heart of this poignant narrative. Rhythm of a Flower is nominated under Best Documentary at Critics Choice Awards 2025 and available to watch on Mubi.

Nocturnes (Documentary)

Directed by Anirban Dutta and Anupama Srinivasan Nocturnes revolves around two curious observers – one scientist, and the other a local resident of the Eastern Himalayas, who spend days watching the moths in the mountains and studying their behavioural patterns. The Documentary is nominated under Best Documentary at Critics Choice Awards 2025 and available to watch on Mubi.

And, Towards Happy Alleys ( Documentary)

Inspired by Iranian cinema and Forough Farrokhzad’s poetry, a young Indian director journeys to Tehran, uncovering how resistance fuels daily survival. Despite strict censorship, they capture raw, candid interviews with Jafar Panahi, activists, and everyday women, revealing a nation’s simmering fears, hopes, and defiance. Spanning six years, this powerful documentary offers an intimate look at Iran on the brink of revolution. Nominated for Best Documentary at the Critics Choice Awards 2025, it stands as a bold testament to resilience and freedom and available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.

Jal Tu Jalaal Tu (Short Film)

Prateek Vats’ short film, Jal Tu Jalaal Tu, brings working class struggles back into focus. Inspired by Anton Chekhov’s 1883 short story. The Death of a Government Clerk, this 29-minute film follows a senior tailor at a cloth factory, offering a poignant look at the plight of workers. Recognized for its powerful storytelling, the film has been nominated for Best Short Film at the Critics Choice Awards 2025, available to watch on Youtube.

If You Know You Know (Short Film)

Nominated for Best Short Film at the Critics Choice Awards 2025, If You Know You Is Love+ may seem tokenistic at first glance, but it poses a powerful question: How much acceptance is truly enough? Ajay (Ankur Thakur) and Utkarsh (Shray Rai Tiwari) share a happy life together, with their families largely supporting their relationship. However, Ajay’s HIV+ status becomes an unspoken barrier, challenging the depth of that acceptance. Through a heartfelt narrative, the film explores love, stigma, and the fine line between tolerance and true understanding and can be streamed on Youtube.
