Cinema Returns to Kashmir: ‘Ground Zero’ to Light Up Srinagar After 38 Years

“Ground Zero,” the eagerly anticipated action thriller from Excel Entertainment, is currently the talk of the movie industry and the public. Expectations for the movie have increased as a result of the trailer and the new posters. The audience is as excited about this movie as they are about its historical accomplishment.

In fact, after 38 years, “Ground Zero“ is the first movie to have a red carpet premiere in Srinagar, Kashmir. On April 18, 2025, this special premiere will take place, marking a significant milestone for the cultural and cinematic legacy.

The first showing of the movie has been reserved for Indian Army officers and jawans to further enhance this momentous occasion. This choice was made in order to pay tribute to the real heroes whose bravery and selflessness served as the inspiration for the movie’s plot.

The BSF is supporting the movie, and viewers have adored the trailer. The plot of “Ground Zero” is based on a real operation that happened in Kashmir and is regarded as one of the BSF’s most successful missions ever. Emraan Hashmi portrays BSF Commandant Narendranath Dhar Dubey in the movie, who oversaw the effort to assassinate a notorious terrorist such as Ghazi Baba.

The mastermind behind the terror attack on Parliament on December 13, 2001, was Ghazi Baba, the deputy chief of the terrorist organization Harkat-ul-Ansar and the top commander of Jaish-e-Mohammad. By bringing this mission back into the public eye, the movie will help viewers understand the extent of the Indian security forces’ power and selflessness.

Tejas Devaskar is the film’s director, and Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar are its producers. Sandeep C. Sidhwani, Arhan Bagati, Nishikant Roy, Kasim Jagmagia, and Vishal Ramchandani are among the co-producers.

On April 25, 2025, “Ground Zero” will be released in theaters. In addition to providing the audience with a thrilling thriller, this movie will vividly depict the Indian Army’s illustrious history for a younger audience.
