Women’s Day Special Film Festival

To celebrate women’s stories and give audiences an experience of some of the best classic films, PVR INOX has organised the Women’s Day Film Festival from March 7 to March 13, 2025. In this special festival, the famous films of Alia Bhatt, Kangana Ranaut and Priyanka Chopra will be shown on the big screen again. Apart from this, three more power-packed films are also being re-released, making a total of 6 films that will be a part of the festival. The event aims to bring back women-centric stories to the audience and showcase their inspiring journey on the big screen. The festival will not only be a source of entertainment but will also highlight the stories of empowered women.

6 Films Rereleasing on box office

1. Fashion

Fashion is directed by Madhur Bhandarkar. This film showcases the hidden struggles behind the glitzy world of modelling. The film stars Priyanka Chopra and Kangana Ranaut in lead roles. The film shows the challenges one has to face to succeed in the modelling industry. The film tells the story of women who are ready to face every situation to fulfill their dreams.

2. Road 

Starring Abhay Deol and directed by Dev Benegal, the film is known for depicting the magic of cinema and the message of adventurous living. The cinematography of the film is brilliant and it inspires life from a new perspective.

3. Lootera

If you haven’t watched ‘Lootera’ directed by Vikramaditya Motwane yet, this re-release is a golden opportunity for you. The story of the film revolves around love, betrayal and dedication. Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha played the lead roles in the movie. The film is inspired by the famous author O. Henry’s story ‘The Last Leaf’ and its music is also very soulful, which has been composed by Amit Trivedi.

4. Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana

Starring Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Kharbanda, the film is a story of love, arranged marriage and new opportunities. The film also touches upon a social issue, highlighting the importance of women’s self-esteem and their careers. The film is a romantic drama, which shows the ups and downs of emotions.

5. The Queen 

Kangana Ranaut’s film is an inspirational story of a woman becoming self-reliant. The film shows how an ordinary girl Rani decides to go on a honeymoon alone despite her broken marriage. The Queen, at first hesitant and lacking self-confidence, realizes her identity and independence while traveling alone in Europe. This film is a great example of women empowerment and it was appreciated by the audience.

6. Highway 

Directed by Imtiaz Ali, the film stars Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda in lead roles. In the story, Alia Bhatt’s character Veera is kidnapped a day before her wedding. However, the initially fearful Veera gradually begins to see and understand herself in a new way. He feels courage and freedom for the first time in his life.
