Kangana Ranaut’s‘ Emergency ‘is all set to release in theatres on January 17. The film has been waiting for a long time for its release. Now Kangana Ranaut has openly expressed her opinion on this issue. He admitted that it was his mistake to direct the film and release it in theatres.
Kangana, in a recent interview, said that she could have released the film on OTT where she could have got a better deal. “I felt it was a wrong decision to release it in theatres. I could have got a good deal on OTT and not faced censorship. I didn’t even know what the Censor Board (CBFC) would cut and what it would leave.”
The censor board and the release of the film
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) certifies all films for public exhibition in India. It functions under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Kangana’s’ Emergency ‘was also stuck several times due to the Censor Board, due to which its release date had to be postponed repeatedly.
