A new ‘theatrical’ trailer for Jigra, featuring Alia Bhatt, was released today on Thursday, 26th September 2024. The new promo highlights stunning action sequences, and the overarching emotional scope of the prison break film looks more expensive.
In the film, Ankur plays the character Vedang Raina, who is incarcerated abroad and subjected to torture. His adamant sister, Satya, played by Alia Bhatt, decides to break him out of the high-security prison. The new trailer depicts Satya training rigorously for the high-stakes mission. Towards the end, we get glimpses of Satya and Ankur as children, orphaned at a tender age, and realize how deep their love is.
Jigra is co-written by Vasan Bala and Debashish Irengbam. The film, produced by Viacom18 Studios, Dharma Productions, and Eternal Sunshine Productions, will release in cinemas on October 11. Vasan is known for directing the action comedy Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, crime-thriller Peddlers, and the comic noir Monica, O My Darling.
Alia Bhat was born to the instrumental Bhat family of Bollywood. She made her debut in Karan Johar’s Student of the Year alongside Varun Dhawan and Siddharth Malhotra, who together debuted with her. Alia Bhat has featured in quite a few good films, and her work is already loved and appreciated by the fans. She was last seen in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Pream Kahaani, which was also a hit. She is married to Ranbir Kapoor and now is the mother of a daughter, ‘Raha’. Her innocent and unfiltered approach is very endearing to the fans around the world.
