Week 1 (12 December) – The First Bloodbath
Ranveer Singh vs Kartik Aaryan – a clash fans never saw coming.
Ranveer Singh storms in with Dhurandhar, a gritty underworld action thriller directed by Aditya Dhar (Uri: The Surgical Strike fame). Backed by a reported ₹180 crore budget, the film sees Ranveer in a never-seen-before ruthless avatar. Directed by Sriram Raghavan (Andhadhun, Merry Christmas), the film is already being called the spiritual successor to Uri and Shershaah. Early screenings have reportedly left audiences in tears. With no major competition this Friday, Ikkis is expected to get a clean run and strong word-of-mouth.
Week 3 (25 December) – Christmas Bonanza
The biggest date on the Bollywood calendar just got crazier. Rajkumar Hirani’s heartwarming romantic comedy Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, starring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, locks Christmas Day. The film marks Hirani’s return to pure romance after the heavy Dunki. Advance trends are through the roof – BookMyShow crashed twice in the last 24 hours when pre-booking opened in select chains.
But wait – strong rumors suggest a South biggie (most likely Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule Hindi version re-release or a new dubbed tentpole) might play spoilsport on the same date.
