Bollywood December 2025: The Mother of All Box Office Clashes is Here!

Mumbai, 5 December 2025

If you thought 2024 was chaotic, December 2025 is about to rewrite the rules of Bollywood box office warfare. Four consecutive Fridays, four mega releases, zero mercy. The coming month is officially the most crowded, most expensive, and arguably the riskiest month in recent Hindi cinema history.

Week 1 (12 December) – The First Bloodbath

Ranveer Singh vs Kartik Aaryan – a clash fans never saw coming.

Ranveer Singh storms in with Dhurandhar, a gritty underworld action thriller directed by Aditya Dhar (Uri: The Surgical Strike fame). Backed by a reported ₹180 crore budget, the film sees Ranveer in a never-seen-before ruthless avatar. Early buzz from trade circles claims the advance booking is “insane,” with multiplex chains already reporting 70% occupancy in major cities for the opening weekend.

On the same day, Kartik Aaryan drops the laugh riot Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon 2, the sequel to his 2015 sleeper hit. Directed by Anees Bazmee, the film promises double the chaos, triple the heroines, and non-stop comedy. Kartik’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 success has given distributors massive confidence – PVR-Inox has allocated almost equal screens to both films in several circuits.

Trade analyst Ramesh Bala predicts, “One film will eat into the other’s family audience in Tier-2 cities. Whoever opens stronger on Friday will dominate the weekend.”

Week 2 (19 December) – Patriotic Firepower

Agnipath star Agastya Nanda steps into the big league with Ikkis, a war biopic based on the heroic story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, PVC. Directed by Sriram Raghavan (Andhadhun, Merry Christmas), the film is already being called the spiritual successor to Uri and Shershaah. Early screenings have reportedly left audiences in tears. With no major competition this Friday, Ikkis is expected to get a clean run and strong word-of-mouth.

Week 3 (25 December) – Christmas Bonanza

The biggest date on the Bollywood calendar just got crazier. Rajkumar Hirani’s heartwarming romantic comedy Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, starring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, locks Christmas Day. The film marks Hirani’s return to pure romance after the heavy Dunki. Advance trends are through the roof – BookMyShow crashed twice in the last 24 hours when pre-booking opened in select chains.

But wait – strong rumors suggest a South biggie (most likely Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule Hindi version re-release or a new dubbed tentpole) might play spoilsport on the same date.

The Off-Screen Drama is Equally Juicy

  • Ananya Panday and Aditya Roy Kapur spotted together at a special screening – are they back together?
  • New sensation Ayesha Khan (Bigg Boss fame) makes her big Bollywood debut in a special song in Dhurandhar, already trending #AyeshaOnFire on social media.
  • Corporate bookings war: A leading telecom giant has reportedly block-booked 1.5 lakh tickets for Dhurandhar, while a rival OTT platform is pushing Kartik’s film aggressively.

Box Office Predictions (Early Estimates)

  • Dhurandhar: ₹120–150 Cr opening weekend (if it clicks)
  • Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon 2: ₹90–110 Cr (safe comedy bet)
  • Ikkis: ₹25–30 Cr opening, strong hold expected
  • Tu Meri Main Tera: ₹200+ Cr lifetime (Christmas advantage)

One thing is certain – December 2025 will make or break careers, set new records, and give us enough memes, fan wars, and trending hashtags to last the entire 2026.
