Intra-Murali – Renowned director Boney Kapoor’s company and real estate behemoth Bhutani Group inked a concession agreement for the building of a Rs 1500 crore International Film City in Jewar, marking a historic milestone for the Indian film industry. On Thursday, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) was present at the formalization of the agreement.
Main Project Information Details
Film production in North India is expected to concentrate around the International Film City, which would be situated close to the future Noida International Airport in Jewar. The project will encompass 1000 acres in its entirety, with the first phase taking up 250 acres. Within the following four to five months, the first phase’s construction is anticipated to start, and it should be finished and functioning in two to three years.
Government Assistance and Goals
The idea is receiving significant support from Dhirendra Singh, the Jewar constituency’s MLA. He said, “Under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership, our government will make history by giving North India’s artists access to a world-class film city.” They won’t have to move to Mumbai to pursue career chances in the film business.”
Viewed as a strategic move, this expansion aims to decentralize the historically Mumbai-based Indian film industry and give the country’s northern regions—often referred to as the Hindi belt—access to superior facilities and prospects.
Network and Infrastructure
The CEO of YEIDA, Arunveer Singh, stressed the organization’s dedication to ensuring a seamless construction process. “The YEIDA will ensure the hassle-free construction of the film city in the area,” said Singh. It is anticipated that Jewar’s under-construction international airport will give the film metropolis vital international connectivity, increasing its allure and accessibility for international film productions.
Impact on Employment and the Economy
Northern Indian industry professionals and locals alike should find plenty of work opportunities as a result of this project. The film city’s advantageous location next to the Noida International Airport and along the Yamuna Expressway would probably draw big talent and investment, boosting the local economy.
Trajectories Ahead
The project aims to establish Jewar as a prominent centre for film production, with funding allocated and site purchase for future stages under progress. Boney Kapoor and the Bhutani Group’s involvement promises to produce a state-of-the-art facility that satisfies international standards and adds considerable industry expertise and reputation.
Results
An important turning point for the Indian film industry was the creation of the International Film City in Jewar. It claims to give North India access to top-notch facilities and decentralize the film industry. Strong government backing, a prime site, and careful planning should make this project a landmark in Indian cinema history, providing a wealth of chances for regional talent and stimulating the economy of the area.
