Pahalgam Terror Attack: Pakistani Actor Fawad Khan Lands in Trouble as India Bans His Film ‘Abir Gulaal’

Cinema hall bans screening of Pakistani films

The release of Pakistani actor Fawad Khan’s film ‘Abeer Gulaal’ has been stalled in India following the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam. Sources in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said the film has been banned.

In the last couple of days, there has been a demand on social media to ban the film. Meanwhile, two songs from the film, which were uploaded on the channel of the production house ‘A Richer Lens Entertainment’ on YouTube, have now been removed from India, meaning they can no longer be seen in the country. The promotional video of the film has also been removed.

Also, music company Saregama, which owns the music rights of the film, has also removed these songs from its YouTube channel. Earlier, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) had not only condemned the terror attack but also appealed to ban Pakistani artists and stop the release of ‘Abeer Gulaal’ in India.

“In a statement on Wednesday, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) reiterated its directive, in which they demanded a ban on the film ‘Abeer Gulaal’ and asked actors, singers and all Pakistani artists in the Indian film and entertainment industry not to help in any way.” On Wednesday, there was talk of boycotting ‘Abeer Gulaal’ on social media. The hashtag #boycottAbirGulaal started trending on Twitter. A user wrote, “If the government is serious, they will definitely ban Abir Gulaal movies.
