Kalki 2898 AD: Prabhas & Deepika Smash Box Office Records

Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi film “Kalki 2898 AD,” starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan, has shattered numerous box office records since its release. The film has been generating buzz since its announcement and continues to draw significant attention. On its 11th day, the movie crossed the 500 crore mark in India, making it the fastest film to do so, surpassing Shah Rukh Khan’s “Jawan” and Ranbir Kapoor’s “Animal,” which took 13 and 16 days respectively.

“Kalki 2898 AD” enjoyed a phenomenal opening, earning over 90 crores on a weekday. By the first weekend, the film’s earnings approached 300 crores. According to Sacnilk, the movie grossed 34.45 crores on its 10th day and 41.3 crores on its 11th day, bringing its total Indian box office collection to 507 crores. The film has also performed exceptionally well internationally, accumulating a worldwide total of 759.6 crores. With a production budget of 650 crores, “Kalki 2898 AD” has already recovered its costs.

The film, released on June 27, features a star-studded cast including Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani, with cameo appearances by SS Rajamouli, Vijay Deverakonda, Ram Gopal Varma, Mrunal Thakur, and Dulquer Salmaan. The movie’s blend of mythology and VFX has captivated both audiences and critics alike.

In its first week, “Kalki 2898 AD” earned 414.85 crores, followed by 16.7 crores on its 9th day, 34.15 crores on its 10th day, and 41.3 crores on its 11th day, leading to a total of 507 crores in India. This includes 242.85 crores from Telugu shows, 211.9 crores from Hindi shows, 30.1 crores from Tamil shows, 18.2 crores from Malayalam shows, and 3.95 crores from Kannada shows. The film is on track to cross the 1,000 crore mark globally.

Director Nag Ashwin has hinted at exciting developments in the film’s sequel, focusing on the character Yaskin, played by Kamal Haasan. Ashwin revealed that Yaskin, a superpowered antagonist, has created his own nemesis, setting the stage for a classic hero-villain confrontation. The sequel, which will introduce a new world called “Flux Lands,” promises to be even grander.

Produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, “Kalki 2898 AD” was released in six languages: Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, and English. Fans eagerly await the sequel, expected to hit theaters in three years.
