Actor Ali Asgar, a beloved figure from “The Kapil Sharma Show,” has responded to speculations about reuniting with Kapil Sharma. Speaking to ETimes, Ali addressed questions about joining Kapil’s latest venture, “The Great Indian Kapil Show,” currently streaming on Netflix. Ali, who exited “The Kapil Sharma Show” in 2017 citing creative differences, has since been focusing on his chat show, “Chaddi Buddy,” alongside Baktiyar Irani.
In his interview, Ali expressed gratitude towards the audience for their continuous support. “Ye toh audience ka pyaar hai (This is audience’s love) that they still keep writing that they want to see me back on the show. I’m thankful to God, and the audience for liking my work. Main Kapil ka bhi shukarguzar hoon ke main aise ek show ka hisaa raha, jisse abhi main nahi hoon phir bhi itna pyaar mujhe milta hai (I’m thankful to Kapil that I was part of such a show, which I’m not now, yet I receive so much love),” he said. Ali acknowledged the show’s popularity and the impact it had on his career, stating, “I’m thankful to Kapil that I was part of such a show, which I’m not now, yet I receive so much love.”
Regarding “The Great Indian Kapil Show,” Ali mentioned that he hasn’t had the opportunity to watch it due to his hectic schedule. “I’ve been traveling a lot off late, working on a few films and will go on a long tour,” he explained. However, he expressed confidence in the show’s success, attributing it to the talented team behind it. “It’s one of the best teams, so the show will be really good,” Ali remarked.
Ali was a pivotal part of “The Kapil Sharma Show,” where he portrayed memorable characters such as ‘Nani’ and ‘Dadi’. His departure in 2017 was a significant moment for fans, who still fondly remember his performances. Despite his current commitments, Ali did not completely rule out the possibility of a future collaboration with Kapil Sharma. “I don’t know about the future, but right now, I’m busy with my chat show, Chaddi Buddy. This buddy (Baktiyar Irani) doesn’t leave me,” he stated.
Ali also shared his thoughts on inviting former colleagues from “The Kapil Sharma Show” to his chat show “Chaddi Buddy.” He expressed his willingness to welcome friends like Krushna Abhishek-Sudesh Lehari and Kiku Sharda-Rajiv Thakur if their schedules align. “Hopefully yes, why not. We would love to have them. In future, we will plan, and if their availability and our requirements for the show match, we would love to welcome them on our show. It will also depend on their availability as they are also working. Ye koi dabav waala show nahi hai, agar unki availability hui and woh aane ke liye tayar hogaye toh (This is not a show that operates on pressure, if they are available and ready to come then) definitely why not?” Ali elaborated.
Ali Asgar’s comments reflect a blend of nostalgia and pragmatism. While he cherishes the love and memories from “The Kapil Sharma Show,” he remains focused on his current projects. Fans of both Ali and Kapil continue to hope for a reunion, but for now, Ali is content with his journey and grateful for the unwavering support of his audience.
