On Thursday Police called Ekta Kapoor and her mother for questions. Police want to record the statement regarding the controversial web series that led to their booking under Protection For Children From Sexual Abuse (POSCO).
The web series Gandi Baat was released under the banner of Ekta Kapoor’s ALT Balaji between February 2021 and April 2021 and is charged under POSCO. The complaint says the web series showed obscene scenes of minor girls.
Although the controversial episode of the series is no longer streaming on the platform, it is alleged to be under judicial scrutiny. Police on Thursday recorded Ekta Kapoor’s same statement regarding POSCO.
On these allegations, Ekta Kapoor responded that she and her mother were not supervising the day-to-day operation activities of the company. The scene regarding child abuse is misinterpreted and was not their intentional motive for the scene.
The ALT Balaji telefilms released the statement against the allegation of POSCO on behalf of Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor, “Concerning various media reports regarding the Web Series – ‘Gandi Baat’, ALT Digital Media Entertainment Ltd. (‘Company’) at this moment clarifies that it is fully compliant with all applicable laws including the POCSO Act and any references to the engagement of minors by the Company is entirely incorrect,”.
Ekta Kapoor has been leading television for 30 years and has never been under such allegations or charges before. Ekta Kapoor in her media conference says, “I firmly believe in the judiciary process, and I know this allegation on me will be taken back soon as I and my mother do not operate day-to-day activities of the company.

Police are interrogating the matter and called her mother Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor regarding the allegation. The episode has been under censorization. The episode involving minor girls has raised the concern of increasing Child Abuse.
The story of the series Gandi Baat is written by Chital Rajesh Tripathi and directed by Sachin Mohite. The series streamed on MX Player and ZEE 5. However, the series is now banned from streaming on the platform. Gandi Baat is an adult series containing adult content. The issue regarding POSCO concerns the reason to cast minor girls in the adult web series. The judicial processing will reveal more about the POSCO allegation against Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor.
