Veteran actress Asha Parekh, well-known for her outstanding performances in Hindi film classics like “Kati Patang” and “Teesri Manzil”, has received the Raj Kapoor Lifetime Achievement Award from the Maharashtra government.

The prize was presented at a grand ceremony at the NSCI Dome in Worli, Mumbai, August 21, 2024. The celebration highlighted Parekh’s significant contributions to Indian movies across decades.
Also receiving the Gansamradni Lata Mangeshkar Award at the same event was celebrated playback singer Anuradha Paudwal. Declaring her tremendous appreciation, Paudwal spoke respectfully of her mentor and guiding star, Lata Mangeshkar. Paudwal stated, her voice full of passion, “Receiving an award in the name of Lata Mangeshkar, whom I consider my Guru, is tremendously meaningful to me.”
Shivaji Satam and other Honorary Recipients
Actor Shivaji Satam got the Chitrapati V Shantaram Lifetime Achievement Award; best known for his legendary role as ACP Pradyuman in the TV series CID. The Raj Kapoor Special Contribution Award honored Director N Chandra, renowned for his stirring films including Tezaab and Ankush. Acknowledging his significant achievements to the film industry, writer-director Digpal Lanjekar received the Chitrapati V Shantaram Special Contribution Award.
