The popular series “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah” airs on an Indian TV channel, and its followers are not exactly thrilled to receive the latest news about their idol, Goli, who is set to disappear from the camera after 16 long years. The other performers he was with when he left clearly felt a strong wave of nostalgia and deep emotions following his departure.

On social media, TV actor Dilip Joshi, who plays the renowned Jethalal Champaklal Gada, posted a heartfelt message for upcoming actor Kush Shah along with a hilarious clip from the program. In an explanation of the note’s meaning, the actor wrote, “@iamkushshah This is a farewell squeeze! Jokes aside, though, I’ve loved every scene we’ve done together. I’m sending you my best wishes! May you never stop grinning. I’m excited to watch you succeed like the ‘Goli’ from a bandook now!”

Considering The Trip

Kush Shah himself credited his time on the show for his affirmation and the happy memories it brought back.  “I was really young when this show started and when I first met you. Since then, you have shown me so much affection. And just as much love as you have given, this family has given. I have a lot of recollections from this place. This place has been enjoyable. Although I grew up here, I would like to thank Mr. Asit Kumar Modi, the creator of “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah,” above all else for his unwavering belief in me, his ability to make my character compelling, and his continuous inspiration. Kush is here today as Goli because he had such great faith in me.”

He went on to say, “I’ll make them all proud.” I really appreciate it. I’ve spent sixteen years participating in this program. And I had a pretty lovely adventure throughout these 16 years. and only lovely because of your affection. Thus, I, Kush Shah, kindly recall your affection as I go away from this performance. Indeed, only Kush Shah takes a break from work. Goli will not change. The same joy, same laughing, same mischievousness. In “Taarak,” an actor may change, but the character never does.”

The Path Ahead

While many were equally saddened by Kush Shah’s decision to leave the show in order to pursue his further education in the US, he was also inundated with love and support from his peers and fans. With that, the curtains are drawn on TMKOC, an Indian television program that has been a mainstay of Indian households for a very long time.

Among the longest-running sitcoms in India, “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah” has a wide ensemble of people and is set in the Gokuldham Co-operative Housing Society. Through their humorous antics, Dilip Joshi, Sunayana Fozdar, Balwinder Singh Suri, and Monaz Mevawalla portray or emote as the show’s comic lead characters.

The viewers will always admire Kush Shah’s efforts on the program and his friendships with his other performers as he moves on. The ability and effort this young man puts into every endeavor he takes on is evident in his development from a sweet little toddler to one of the most beloved characters on one of India’s most popular television shows.

This week, Kush Shah was greeted enthusiastically by fans outside the Royal Monceau Hotel in Paris and signed signature cards. He even received a standing ovation at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall when his documentary, “I Am: Celine Dion,” was screened in New York. In the wake of stiff-person syndrome, Dion’s musical legacy and strong will are reflected in the documentary.
